Dries Buytaert, Co-founder and Benevolent Dictator
Dries is the original creator and project lead for the Drupal open source web publishing and collaboration platform. He serves as president of the Drupal Association, a non-profit organization formed to help Drupal flourish. A native of Belgium, Dries holds a PhD in computer science and engineering from Ghent University.
Jay Batson, Co-founder, Company Craftsman
Acquia is the second technology company Jay has (co-)founded, and is also his second commercial open-source effort (the previous having been Pingtel, which was acquired by Bluesocket in 2007.) Jay's work passion is to build great companies that build things that users are passionately happy with. When not obsessing about products, he builds miles on his custom Serotta, is a rabid pro cycling fan (getting his news at VeloNews - a Drupal site!), and spends time under the headphones listening to and spinning all styles of house and trance music.
Jeff Whatcott, Communicator in Chief
Jeff joined Acquia from Adobe, where he managed marketing, product management, and evangelism for several platform and infrastructure products. He is a father of four, a passionate amateur photographer, and an armchair economist. Jeff grew up in Idaho and studied economics and earned his MBA at Brigham Young University.
Barry Jaspan, Principal Engineer
Barry is an entrepreneurially-minded computer programmer with a strong focus on computer security and privacy. Prior to Acquia, Barry spent two years as a Drupal core developer; he also created interMute, the first commercial web annoyance blocker, and Spamnix, a spam-blocking product. Barry is a maniacal whitewater kayaker and rock climber and generally spends his time wherever rocks, water, and gravity meet.
Gabor Hojtsy, Code Gardener
Gábor is an open source enthusiast and contributor. He started his open source work as part of the PHP.net team, where he was the documentation team lead. With experience organizing open conferences and meetups, reviewing books, teaching courses and collaborating on all kinds of open source projects, he settled around Drupal over the past few years. In his spare time, Gábor likes to sing and act, especially in musicals.
Douglas Hubler, Propellerhead
Douglas joins Acquia from Pingtel. He brings variety of experience working on web related consulting adventures. Douglas enjoys deleting code much more than writing it, solving problems that have not been solved before and finds great satisfaction in open source environments. He enjoys birdwatching and playing hockey. BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Massachusetts - Amherst.
Bryan House, Head Zymurgist
Bryan joined Acquia from EMC, where he managed product and outbound marketing for Documentum’s collaboration, document management and search technologies.
