Lawrence Chin

Lawrence has a diverse background in clinical medicine, health insurance and business development. His investment experience includes startups, joint ventures and M&A in Singapore, Australia and the US. Prior to joining Bio*One Capital, Lawrence was with the global insurance firm, AXA, where he was part of the Asia Pacific regional team involved in outlining global strategies for health management services for the group.

Lawrence has an MBA with a major in finance from the Graduate School of Management, Australia and a medical degree from the University of Western Australia. He practiced internal medicine for 7 years in Australia and U.K.

Freddy Boey

Freddy Boey graduated from Monash University, Australia as top graduate with 1st class honours, Bachelors of Materials Engineering. He worked as a failure analyst before obtaining his PhD (Chemistry/Engineering) in 1987. He is presently Professor of Materials Science & Engineering and Dean, School of Materials Science & Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is a Fellow of the Inst. Materials (UK) and Fellow of the Institute Engineers, Singapore. He is also Deputy President, Materials Research Society, Singapore.

Freddy has started 2 companies, Amaranth Medical and Electroactiv Inc. He has patents licensed to Biomedical companies in USA/Singapore. He chairs the Asia Pacific Materials Conferences, sits on Advisory committees for Conferences in Europe and Asia. His current collaborators include Caltech Bioengineering Dept., Mayo Medical Center Rochester, Marie Curie, Paris and U. Illinios.

Mun Yew

Mun Yew has hands-on experience in clinical medicine, and was a founder in a number of start-up companies in the fields of education, healthcare and medical tourism. He was a General Physician for 8 years prior to joining Bio*One Capital. Mun Yew has served on the boards of portfolio companies Neurovision and KOOPrime in Singapore, in addition to his current appointments in Amaranth Medical.

Mun Yew obtained his medical degree and diploma in dermatology from the National University of Singapore.

Subbu Venkatraman

Subbu Venkatraman graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA (PhD, Chemistry). After a number of research positions in polymer science at the Universities of Pittsburgh and Tennessee, he joined Raychem Corporation in Menlo Park, California in the R&D Dvision. After 7 years, he moved to Cygnus Therapeutic Systems where he was Director of Advanced Polymer Delivery Systems for a further five years before joining ALZA as a Senior Research Fellow and Product Development Manager.

Subbu joined the School of Material Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore where he became the Deputy Director of the Biomedical Engineering Research Centre in 2001, and became the Vice Dean of the School of Material Science and Engineering in 2004. He has over 45 publications, with 12 patents to his name and is the co-founder of Amaranth Medical Pte Ltd.
