Reed Henry, SVP Marketing & Business Development

ArcSight Names Reed Henry Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development

CUPERTINO, CA - September 10, 2007 - ArcSight, Inc., a leading provider of security and compliance management solutions, today announced that it has further strengthened its executive leadership team with the appointment of technology industry veteran Reed Henry. Reporting directly to ArcSight's COO Tom Reilly, Henry will lead the company's global marketing efforts through the development and execution of strategic initiatives that promote global sales growth and maximize new business development. He brings to ArcSight more than 18 years of experience managing a wide variety of business development, sales and marketing, product management, professional services and international strategy efforts for global companies.

Henry's extensive technology background spans a wide variety of disciplines, including database, consumer internet, packaged applications, networking, telephony, VoIP, business process integration, call center applications, and SOA composite applications. Most recently, Henry served as senior vice president of marketing, alliances and business development at SeeBeyond Technology, a global middleware software provider. In that capacity, he managed numerous strategic corporate initiatives including the company's go-to-market strategy and execution, new partner acquisition and strategic alliances. Henry also played an instrumental role in the acquisition of SeeBeyond by Sun Microsystems, a partner whom Henry recruited and managed.

Before joining SeeBeyond, Henry served as vice president of strategy and new business at eBay where he was responsible for the company's strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and development and execution of strategies to build out new eBay categories. Henry served in various highly technical roles and leadership positions before joining eBay. Most notably, he served as the vice president of marketing and product management of Vertical Networks, a Kleiner Perkins and Accel Partners-backed startup that developed voice and data communications products for telecommunications service providers, enterprises and SMBs, that was acquired by Artisoft.

Kevin Mosher, SVP Field Operations

Kevin Mosher has been in Enterprise Software for over 20 years. Kevin is currently the SVP of WW Operations at Arcsight, a leading provider of Enterprise Security Management software.

Prior to Arcsight, Kevin held an Executive in Residence position at Accel Partners. Kevin moved to Silicon Valley to take a position with Portal Software. During his six years at Portal Software, Inc., he grew the sales organization from a single employee to a worldwide force of 600 in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. During his tenure as senior vice president of worldwide sales, Portal's revenue grew from $3 million to $300 million annually. Mosher was a member of the executive team that executed Portal's initial public offering (IPO), one of the most successful in enterprise software history.

Prior to joining Portal, Mosher spent ten years in executive and sales management positions at a number of technology leaders, including Oracle and Interleaf (acquired by Broadvision), where he regularly exceeded revenue projections. His enterprise software technology career began in 1982 at Applied Data Research. Kevin is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a degree in Economics.

Ted Schlein

As Chairman of the Board for Ketera Technologies, a leading provider of On Demand Spend Management Solutions, Ted Schlein is keenly focused on reaching out to customers and collaborating on board-level strategy and company vision. Ted joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in November 1996. His focus has been in the area of enterprise security and applications, infrastructure and services. Ted managed the KPCB Java Fund, formed to invest in Java technology-based companies and related Internet, Intranet, networking and communications companies. He serves on the board of ArcSight, Corio, Evant, Fortify, Ketera, IronPlanet, Linuxcare, and oversees the company's interests in Internet Security Systems and New Vine Logistics.

Ted came to KPCB with significant experience in enterprise software business management at Symantec Corporation. As Vice President of Networking and Client Server Technology, he was responsible for overseeing the marketing and development of enterprise products. Prior to that he served as VP of Symantec's European business development and as VP Data Management Group. Mr. Schlein is credited with establishing Symantec in both the utilities and antivirus markets by starting and building these business units. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Ernest von Simson

Ernest von Simson is Senior Partner and cofounder of Ostriker von Simson, a consultancy that formulates IT strategies for the assessment, acquisition, monitoring, and management of emerging technologies and technology-related ventures. von Simson and his partners also chair the CIO Strategy Exchange which brings together CIOs from the largest multinational enterprises.

He was cofounder of the Research Board, where he directed the professional staff in examining evolving business models, advanced technology, business applications and IT best practices. von Simson's articles have appeared in Harvard Business Review, Computerworld, and Fortune. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Arcsight, Good Technology and Levanta. von Simson holds an M.B.A. from New York University and a B.A. from Brown University.

William Crowell

William P. Crowell is an Independent Consultant specializing in Information Technology, Security and Intelligence Systems. He also is a director and Chairman of Broadware Technologies, an Internet streaming-video company, a director of ArcSight, Inc., an enterprise security management software company, a director of Narus, a software company specializing in IP telecommunications Infrastructure software, a director at Ounce Labs, a software company specializing in source code vulnerability assessment tools and a director of RVison, a video surveillance technology company. In July 2003 he was appointed to the Unisys Corporate Security Advisory Board (now the Security Leadership Institute) to address emerging security issues and best practices. In September 2003 he joined the Advisory Board at ChoicePoint, a data aggregation company.

William P. Crowell served as President and Chief Executive Officer Cylink Corporation, a leading provider of e-business security solutions from November 1998 to February 2003, when Cylink was acquired by SafeNet, Inc., a VPN technology and security products company. He continues to serve as a consultant and member of the Federal Advisory Board at SafeNet.

Crowell came to Cylink from the National Security Agency, where he held a series of senior positions in operations, strategic planning, research and development, and finance. In early 1994 he was appointed as the Deputy Director of NSA and served in that post until his retirement in late 1997 From 1989 to 1990, Crowell served as a vice president at Atlantic Aerospace Electronics Corporation, now a subsidiary of Titan Systems, leading business development in space technology, signal processing and intelligence systems.

In April 1999, Crowell was appointed to the President's Export Council (PEC), which advised the administration on trade and export policy. He served as chairman of the PEC Subcommittee on Encryption, which worked with the Administration, Congress and private industry to substantially loosen restrictions on the export of encryption products and technology. He continues to serve on PEC subcommittee for export administration. In March 2001, the Secretary of Defense appointed Crowell to a federal advisory committee that conducted a comprehensive review of the U. S. Nuclear Command and Control System.

Craig Ramsey

A 35-year veteran of the technology industry, former Siebel Systems Executive Vice President Craig Ramsey joined salesforce.com's board of directors in April 2003, assuming the position vacated in 2000 by Lawrence J. Ellison, chairman and CEO of Oracle Corporation. While at Siebel, Ramsey served as executive vice president of worldwide sales and oversaw the company's sales growth from $4 million to more than $1.5 billion.

Ramsey most recently served as CEO of Pay By Touch, a biometrics payment company. Previously, Ramsey was VP of U.S. sales at Oracle Corporation and has held positions at Amdahl as well as other high tech software and hardware companies. Ramsey began his career in technology with IBM, and currently sits on the board of ArcSight, Guidewire, M-Factor and Verticals onDemand.
