Files scheduled for internet backup are encrypted on your machine using AES military grade encryption. These encrypted files are then transferred over an encrypted SSL connection directly to the Backblaze datacenters, where they are stored encrypted. Basically, your files are as safe as the money in your bank. Blistering Speed We hate software that slows down our computers, so our team developed the unique performance-optimized FSCAN Engine that rapidly analyzes file changes while minimizing disk I/O and system resource usage. Modern systems have hundreds of gigabytes of storage with critical data dispersed across the hard drive and split into various size file chunks. The FSCAN Engine is developed on proprietary disk scheduling algorithms that minimize drive-head movement and disk I/O through buffer streamlining to ensure the fastest drive analysis.
