Description:The GoldTime Sign-off suite is comprised of four major components:

GoldTime performs variation-aware timing analysis on a design. It is capable of running nominal, statistical, Monte Carlo, and SPICE analyses on the full design or any part of the design. It is SDC compatible and presents results in the familiar PrimeTime environment. GoldTime Analysis performs timing and clock tree analysis. It further calculates the effect of process variation on crosstalk noise and delay. GoldTime Analysis computes variation sensitivities for each cell. Variation sensitivities are the mathematical models for measuring the cell's contribution to yield or clock skew and a key technology driving the statistical optimization engine.

GoldTime optimization does post-layout optimization to meet more aggressive constraints and improve design robustness. Conventional optimization flows based on worst-case corner models tend to push the design to unrealistic performance, causing significant wastage in area and power consumption. GoldTime optimization takes advantage of GoldTime's unique modeling and analysis capability to achieve optimal balance between the performance yield target and power and area requirements. GoldTime optimization interfaces with all major vendors' backend physical implementation flows.

GoldTime extraction performs variation-aware interconnect RC extraction. The effects of metal and dielectric variations are quickly calculated using a fast, distributed, pattern-based extraction engine. GoldTime extraction also offers a second 3D extraction engine to verify and validate nominal and statistical values.

GoldTime characterization builds statistical models of a standard cell library. It measures the sensitivity of cell performance with respect to physical variations across the manufacturing range. It is capable of tying variations to individual transistors and combining their effects to create efficient transistor mismatch models. Monte Carlo analysis is used to verify and validate the mismatch models. GoldTime uses the resulting models for analyzing both systematic and random variations.

Extreme DA GoldTime is engineered for real-world production designs. It takes full-advantage of multi-threading on multiprocessor workstations such as Intel Xeon, and AMD Opteron. GoldTime boasts capacities and run-times that exceed traditional corner-based-only analysis tools.
