Move Networks Overview

Move Networks is a content delivery network (CDN) specializing in streaming video. Move Networks has inked several high-profile deals, with clients including ABC, Discovery.com, and Fox Interactive Media. And with good reason -- it's technology offers high video quality, low buffer time, and extremely responsive seeking and other controls. However, in contrast to some other CDNs, Move Networks streams its content through a proprietary browser plug-in called Move Player, which the user must install before viewing any video. This drawback will become increasingly important as Flash-based CDNs take advantage of their technology's new support for the H.264 video codec.
