Doug Nielsen, Chairman and Co-founder

Doug Nielsen has over 17 years' experience as an entrepreneur and Internet pioneer. He co-founded NetShops Inc. in 2002, along with business partners Mark Hasebroock and Julie Mahloch. In 2006, NetShops was named the 13th fastest-growing company in America by Inc. Magazine and currently ranks #104 on Internet Retailer Magazine's Top 500 list. Prior to NetShops, Doug co-founded and served as CEO of Giftpoint.com, which merged with Giftcertificates.com in March 2000. Following the merger, Doug was president and also a director of Giftcertificates.com. Prior to that, Doug founded two direct marketing companies. Doug received his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Carter Cast, President and CEO

Carter Cast joined NetShops in October 2007 as president & CEO. Carter received his early training in the restaurant division of PepsiCo Inc. (Pizza Hut International and Taco Bell) from 1986-1990 and then at Frito-Lay from 1992-1997, where he became director of marketing, managing the $1.5 billion tortilla chip category and launching Tostitos salsas and dips. Carter served as vice president of product marketing and marketing communications at Electronic Arts, launching products like SimCity 3000 and The Sims. He left to become a member of the start-up team for Blue Nile Inc., a Kleiner-Perkins and Trinity Ventures-backed company, which became the leading online retailer of diamonds and fine jewelry, selling in excess of $200 million after six years in existence. Carter was Blue Nile's senior vice president of marketing, merchandising and site when the company was named one of the 40 best e-commerce sites by Forbes magazine. He developed the brand and site identity, as well as the marketing communication and product assortment strategy. Carter left Blue Nile to be part of the launch team at Walmart.com, a division of Wal-mart Stores Inc. He served as vice president of marketing from 2000-2002 and senior vice president of marketing, merchandising, creative and site from 2002-2005. In 2005 Carter was promoted to president of Walmart.com and to CEO in February of 2006. He led Wal-Mart's e-commerce division to profitability on its way to becoming the third highest volume e-tail site behind eBay and Amazon.com. Carter graduated from Stanford University in 1985 and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1992.

Julie Mahloch, Co-founder

Julie Mahloch co-founded NetShops in 2002, along with business partners Doug Nielsen and Mark Hasebroock. In 2006, NetShops was named the 13th fastest-growing company in America by Inc. Magazine and currently ranks #104 on Internet Retailer Magazine's Top 500 list. Julie Mahloch oversees the store development strategies for NetShops, responsible for the ever-growing number of new categories and stores. Under her leadership, NetShops has grown from a single store to over 200 stores. Prior to co-founding NetShops, Julie co-founded Giftpoint.com, which merged with GiftCertificates.com. Following the merger, she was vice president of merchants. Julie holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska.

Mark Hasebroock, Vice-Chairman and Co-founder

Mark Hasebroock co-founded NetShops in 2002, along with business partners Doug Nielsen and Julie Mahloch. In 2006, NetShops was named the 13th fastest-growing company in America by Inc. Magazine and currently ranks #104 on Internet Retailer Magazine's Top 500 list. Prior to NetShops, Mark was COO of Giftcertificates.com and a partner with Doug Nielsen and Julie Mahloch. Prior to his involvement with Giftcertificates.com, Mark was an investment banker with McCarthy & Company from 1986 to 1999. From 1983 to 1986 Mark was owner of Vic's Corn Popper retail stores, located in Omaha. Mark graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1982 and holds an MBA from Creighton University. He is active in the Omaha community, serving on the board of directors of Creighton Prep High School and as commissioner of the Nebraska High School Hockey League.

Ash ElDifrawi, Chief Marketing Officer

Ash joined NetShops in April 2008 with over 20 years of marketing management experience, specifically in the areas of online and brand marketing and new product development. Prior to NetShops, Ash was the director of brand advertising at Google, where he was responsible for all CPM-based revenue for Google and YouTube. While at Google, Ash built the Google Brand Accelerator (GBA), a cross-functional organization focused on delivering relevant and impactful display and video online advertising to F1000 brand advertisers. Prior to Google, Ash was a managing director at Wrigley, where he looked after a $1+ billion portfolio of brands including Life Savers, Juicy Fruit, Extra, Doublemint, Creme Savers, and Solano across four continents. Ash came to Wrigley from McKinsey, where he worked with the world's leading companies in solving a multitude of problems in the areas of operations, marketing, and strategy. Ash earned his bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in sociology from the University of Chicago, and went on to gain his doctorate in clinical psychology. Ash is also an accomplished writer and film-maker.
