Bobbi K. Frioli Joins Tablus As Vice President Of Sales
Results-Driven Sales Professional to Continue Acceleration of Enterprise Adoption
SAN MATEO, Calif. – December 12, 2006 – Tablus Inc., a leading provider of content protection solutions, today announced the appointment of Bobbi Frioli to the position of vice president of worldwide sales. In this role, Frioli will be responsible for the company’s continued adoption within large enterprises. She will also lead planning and development for the company’s sales teams, reporting to Anne Bonaparte, president and chief executive officer of Tablus.
“Bobbi has extensive experience in sales leadership and alliance development within a broad spectrum of organizations,” said Bonaparte. “Tablus is in the midst of the most successful year in the company’s history. Frioli brings more than 12 years of enterprise technology sales expertise to the Tablus executive management team. Most recently, Frioli served as the vice president of sales at MailFrontier, a provider of email security solutions. Prior to MailFrontier, Frioli was the vice president of sales and alliances at Clearswift. Frioli has also held several channel posts at companies including Epicentric, now part of Vignette; Autonomy Corporation, PLC; and Shaman Corporation.

George Lin
George Lin is Chief Information Officer and Vice President of IT at Advent Software. He is responsible for Advent’s worldwide IT organization and leads global business process optimization, integration and automation efforts for the company. Prior to Advent, Lin was CIO of EMC/Documentum, a $1.5B division of EMC Corporation. Before EMC, George was CIO of Documentum, a provider of enterprise content management solutions where he helped to build the company from a small startup to a global leader. George has been named a Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leader for 2003 and has been quoted in various IT and business publications. He is a co-author of the Prentice Hall PTR book, "CIO Wisdom." George graduated from University of California at Berkeley.
Cedric Bennett
Cedric Bennett is Emeritus Director, Information Security Services for Stanford University, where he oversaw the development and implementation of information security policy. He is a member of the EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Computer and Network Security Task Force. A frequent speaker at professional conferences and seminars, Mr. Bennett served as a founding faculty member from 1998 to 2001 in the CAUDIT-EDUCAUSE Institute. He holds a B.A. in philosophy from San Francisco State University and has completed graduate work in philosophy, cybernetic systems and business studies.
John Laing
John Laing has over 30 years of experience in the technology industry and has held top management positions with Symantec Corp., Inxight Software, Inc., Wayfarer Communications, Inc., and other firms. During his career at Symantec, Mr. Laing was instrumental in the decision-making process and implementation of 14 successful acquisitions and managed Symantec’s revenues from $15 million to $600 million. Mr. Laing has also worked at Food.com, Apple Computer, ECZEL Corporation, Xerox Corporation and IBM. In addition to Tablus, Mr. Laing serves on several other company boards including Workshare, the leading provider of document integrity applications.
James Pante
Jim Panté brought a 25 year track record of integrity and leadership in the fields of network management and enterprise software to Tablus while serving as President and CEO. Prior to joining Tablus he was the Vice President of Field Operations at VitalSigns Software, Inc. where his considerable experience helped to position the company for a successful acquisition by International Network Services in 1998. Before VitalSigns, Panté held a similar position at DataTools, Inc. and built a world class sales organization during his three-year tenure which became a significant factor in its subsequent acquisition by BMC Software. Prior to DataTools, Panté worked for Network General Corporation. During the critical growth phase that spanned its transition from a private organization to a public company, Panté held a variety of senior management positions. These included Vice President and Director of U.S. sales and culminated in his role as managing director of European operations where he firmly established his reputation for excellence in international business. Panté is also a former law enforcement officer which, in concert with his business experience, provides him with a unique perspective on information security.
Cecilia Claudio
Ms. Claudio has served as Chief Information Officer for Mercury Interactive Corporation, a business technology opitimization company, since October 2005. From September 2004 until her move to Mercury Interactive, she served as Chief Information Officer and Vice President, Engineering for Align Technology, a technology-based orthodontic manufacturer. In May 2004, Ms. Claudio was named an Executive in Residence at Clearstone Venture Partners venture capital firm and continues to serve in an advisory campacity for Clearstone. From March 2003 to October 2004, Ms. Claudio served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Zurich Financial Services, the parent company of Farmers Group, Inc., a large automobile and home insurance company. From June 1998 to March 2003, Ms. Claudio served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Farmers Group, Inc.
Tim Hanrahan
Tim Hanrahan is Vice President of Information Services and Chief Information Officer for Adaptec. He is responsible for all of the company's worldwide computer operations, networks and application systems. Previously, Mr. Hanrahan spent 22 years with Sun Diamond Growers of California in various positions culminating as vice president, information systems and services. Earlier career stops include system related positions with United Airlines and the United States Air Force. Mr. Hanrahan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Arizona State University.
Scott Strait
Scott Strait is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of the Charles Schwab Corporation. Named as CTO in September 2004, Strait's primary responsibility is to identify specific technologies that create a competitive advantage for Charles Schwab and to help set the stage for future growth. He is an expert on all trends and developments in technology that is relevant to the business. He oversees enterprise architecture, coordinating enterprise technology plans across the firm.
Tama Olver
Tama Olver is Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Applera Corporation. She is responsible for molding the company’s information systems for the future including its infrastructure and application development. Prior to joining Applera Corporation, Ms. Olver served as Vice President, Chief Information Officer of Quantum Corporation since 2000, where she was responsible for global information architecture and standards, applications delivery, operations and eBusiness strategy. From 1998-2000, Ms. Olver served as Vice President, Chief Information Officer of Informix Corporation. Ms. Olver held a number of positions at Amdahl Corporation from 1978-1998, most recently serving as Vice President, Chief Information Officer. Prior to Amdahl Corporation, Ms. Olver worked as a Manager and Project Manager at Remote Computing Corporation and Control Data Corporation.
Janine Roth
Ms. Roth has over 20 years of domestic and international experience in the networking and communications industry. Ms. Roth joined NetScreen Technologies in early 2001 as Vice President of Business Development. While there she developed NetScreen’s global OEM and channel strategies. Additionally she developed NetScreen’s formal alliance program and was responsible for structuring and negotiating global agreements with Ericsson, Alcatel, Siemens, Avaya, Trend Micro, Equant and Motorola. She also played key roles in the acquisitions of OneSecure ($21M), Neoteris ($265M) and Juniper’s acquisition of Netscreen ($4B).
Prior to joining NetScreen, Ms. Roth was the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Centigram Communications/ADC. Before Centigram, she spent 9 years overseas in GM and product management roles across BellSouth International’s 16 global telecom operations. She also held positions at Touche Ross, Digital Equipment Corporation and AT&T – Bell Labs.
David Webb
David Webb serves as SVB Financial Group's Chief Information Officer, responsible for aligning the company's information technology efforts with its business strategy. Mr. Webb was most recently Vice President at Goldman Sachs, where he coordinated a global team of IT professionals, supporting the Investment and Merchant Banking Divisions. Until 1999 Mr. Webb served as the Chief Information Officer of Finance One at Bank One Corporation. Before joining Bank One, Webb was the Chief Technology Officer for GE Capital's Auto Finance business. Between 1986 and 1992 he served as a technology consultant to several large corporations in the U.S. While living in Europe, Mr.Webb held positions at companies servicing the oil industry, including Kestrel Data Limited, Marathon Oil UK Ltd., and Brown and Root Ltd. Mr. Webb earned a bachelor's degree in Russian from the University of London and an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Scott Thompson
Scott Thompson is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for PayPal. As Chief Technology Officer, he oversees information technology, product development, and architecture for PayPal. Mr. Thompson and his team are responsible for the products and systems architecture that will help fuel PayPal’s growth and enable global expansion. Prior to PayPal, Mr. Thompson worked for Inovant, a subsidiary of Visa formed to oversee global technology for the organization. As Executive Vice President of Technology Solutions at Inovant, he was responsible for all development, support and maintenance of Visa’s global payment system. Mr. Thompson was also Chief Information Officer of Barclays Global Investors, where he implemented a new strategic technology platform and global infrastructure. In addition, he has worked with Coopers and Lybrand, delivering information technology solutions to leading financial services clients such as Wells Fargo. Mr. Thompson received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Computer Science from Stonehill College.

Hal Calhoun
Hal Calhoun joined Menlo Ventures as Managing Director in 2000. Prior to Menlo Ventures, Hal served as Senior Vice President of Product Marketing for ONI Systems, a leading optical networking equipment manufacturer. Previously, he held various market development positions in the Optical Networks division of Nortel Networks and was Senior Manager of Broadband Transport Planning at Fujitsu Network Communications. At Menlo, Hal focuses on investments in leading companies in the information technology sector. His recent investments and board seats include Bluesocket, Invidi, Movaz Networks, Parama Networks, S2io Technologies, Santur, Stretch and Tablus .
Hal received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where his graduate work focused on photonic materials, devices and systems.
John De Santis
John De Santis has more than 25 years of sales, marketing and general management experience in top management positions in the telecommunications and information technologies fields, including President and CEO of TriCipher, Inc. Prior to joining TriCipher, De Santis was President and CEO of Sygate Technologies (an enterprise security software company) from 2000 to 2005 until its acquisition by Symantec. Prior to Sygate, De Santis served as Senior Vice President for Network Computing Devices, and also was Vice President, European operations for Cincinnati Bell Information Systems (now Convergys Corporation). De Santis is an alumnus of Fairfield University and completed the Stanford University Executive Institute Program for Management of High-Technology Companies.
Peter Meekin
Peter T. Meekin, Board Member
Mr. Meekin is a Managing Director of Trident Capital. He has more than 20 years of experience in software, information services, and technology consulting. Prior to joining Trident Capital, Mr. Meekin was Vice President of Venture Development at Enterprise Associates, LLC, the venture capital division of IMS Health. He has also held senior technology and management positions with Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, Lotus Development Corporation, and IBM. In addition, Mr. Meekin has hands-on entrepreneurial experience, having launched three start-up companies in the software and consulting industries.
