Hatim Tyabji
Hatim A. Tyabji is the former chairman, president and CEO of Verifone, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard. Before HP acquired Verifone in 1997, under Hatim's pioneering leadership, Verifone diversified to providing comprehensive system solutions in 110 countries. Prior to heading Verifone, Mr. Tyabji held management positions at Sperry Corporation, most recently as president of Information Systems, the number three position in the 77,000 person company. Mr. Tyabji served from 1998 to 2000 as chief executive officer and chairman of Saraide Inc., the Portable Portal, whose mission is to drive the convergence of the Internet and wireless telecommunications.
Tyabji also serves on the board of directors for Ariba, Best Buy, eFunds, PubliCARD, SmartDisk and is chairman of the board of DataCard Group. He holds both a B.S. from the College of Engineering in Poona, India and a M.S. from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Additionally, Mr. Tyabji holds an MBA in international business from Syracuse University and is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program. He serves on the Dean's council at the State University of New York (Buffalo) and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University.
