Bytemobile Appoints Former Openwave Executive Marty Smuin as
Vice President, Sales, for Americas

Will Focus on Major Opportunities with Leading Mobile Network Operators

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - August 16, 2006
Bytemobile, Inc., the global leader in optimization solutions for mobile data networks, today announced the appointment of Marty Smuin as vice president of Sales for the Americas. Smuin’s recent wireless industry experience includes senior management positions in sales, marketing and business development at Openwave Systems, Inc. and ACCESS Co., Ltd. Reporting to Steve Livingston, Bytemobile executive vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Smuin is responsible for all of the company’s sales activities and customer relationships in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.

He brings to Bytemobile a strong background in building strategic account and channel relationships.”

Most recently, Smuin was vice president, GSM and Latin America, at Openwave, an independent provider of software solutions for the communications and media industries. Previously, he was vice president of Sales, Marketing and Business Development at ACCESS Systems, a Tokyo-based provider of web browsers for mobile markets worldwide. Smuin also held a series of management positions at InterActiveCorp (IAC), operator of the Home Shopping Network and numerous other media properties, and at Comcast/QVC, Inc. He holds a B.A. degree in Business and Latin American Studies from the University of Oklahoma, and served as a member of the board of governors of 3G Americas.

Bytemobile’s current customers in the Americas include Cingular Wireless and Sprint Nextel in the U.S.; Sasktel in Canada; and Telefónica Móviles in Mexico and Peru. The company has expanded its direct sales and sales engineering staff in the U.S. to provide coverage at key locations of the leading wireless network operators. Bytemobile has also formed global reseller partnerships with major wireless network infrastructure providers, such as Motorola, to build and support its customer base in South and Central America, and the Caribbean.
